Why broaden your domain mix?
When you build an outbound stack, .com is an obvious starting point. It does not need to be your only option. Adding .it gives you another namespace in which to find recognisable, brand-aligned sending domains.
Treat the new batch as a setup to evaluate. Use a consistent provider, authenticate it correctly and compare performance under similar campaign conditions. Diversification is an infrastructure choice; its value comes from what you measure.
Registrant requirements, explained
Registro .it has eligibility requirements for registrants. These cover adults with citizenship, residence or a registered office in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, San Marino or Vatican City. Registration goes through an accredited registrar.
Accurate registrant information is required, and identity or business documents can be requested during verification. Before registering, confirm eligibility, the registrant details and how account access will be handed over.
Set up a fair comparison
Keep the factors you can control consistent: provider, authentication, domain age, audience, message and sending volume. Track delivery errors, complaints and qualified replies over a defined period.
Add .it to your stack. Then measure.
Your own campaign data should determine how you allocate volume.
Provider guidance focuses on authentication, reputation and recipient feedback. A namespace abuse report can be useful context, but it is not an inbox-placement test of your setup.
Before your first campaign
- Choose recognisable names. Keep the connection to your brand clear.
- Confirm the registrant. Check eligibility, access and renewal arrangements.
- Configure your provider. Verify SPF, DKIM and DMARC, then test replies.
- Connect your website. Give anyone checking your domain a clear destination.
- Ramp gradually. Let delivery signals guide the next step.
A small, well-configured batch is a practical place to start.
